Center for Universal Design
The Center for Universal Design (formerly, the Center on Accessible Housing) is a NIDRR-funded Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center that evaluates, develops, and promotes accessible and universal design in buildings and related products.

Department of Housing and Urban Development
HUD enforces the Fair Housing Act and has issued guidelines under this law (the Fair Housing Accessibility Guidelines) which cover multi-family housing. These guidelines are available on HUD's website. Information is also available on how to file a complaint with HUD under the Fair Housing Act.

Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST
Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST is a new initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designed to promote compliance with the Fair Housing Act design and construction requirements. The program consists of a comprehensive training curriculum, as well as a toll-free information line and website designed to provide technical guidance to the public.

Home Modification Action Project
The Goal of "Promoting Successful Aging in Place: The Home Modification Action Project" (or HMAP) is to increase the availability of home modifications so that frail older and disabled persons have the choice to age in place and the provision of care can take place in a supportive environment.
