ThyssenKrupp Goes Gearless With The Volant
Grandview, Missouri –
ThyssenKrupp Access announced today the introduction of the Volant, its newest residential elevator. The Volant is ThyssenKrupp Access’ first home elevator that utilizes gearless motor technology, affording the user a quiet, smooth and stable ride with a maximum in safety and environmentally friendly amenities.
The Volant ushers in a new era of comfort and safety in the field of home elevation.
“The Volant follows a long line of industry innovation by ThyssenKrupp Access,” Tom Hance, President, ThyssenKrupp Access, said.
“As the first manufacturer to introduce a machine room free home elevator with the release of the LEV in 2001, and the first to introduce a pitless home elevator with the RISE in 2006, we continue to be one of the leaders of the industry in technological innovation and consumer satisfaction.”
In developing the Volant, ThyssenKrupp Access took care not only in developing the ride quality and reliability of the Volant, but also did their best to keep things more green.
“When people think about riding in a home elevator, the ultra smooth start and stop they think of is typically done by hydraulics. Instead of a hydraulic home elevator, we chose to use a new type of drive system, the gearless motor, which requries no hydraulic fluid. That way, by choosing the Volant for your home elevator, you are taking a more green approach to home building,” Jim Quinly, Manager of Marketing and Business Development, said.
The Volant will be showcased at the 2008 International Builders Show next month in Orlando, Florida. The Volant represents the culmination of two years of research and development by ThyssenKrupp Access and changes forever the way home elevators will be viewed by builders, architects, and consumers.
